What is the Future of Test Cricket?

Most of the Indian cricket fans must be aware that Test Cricket Championship is going on. At the moment, India is leading the point table after convincing wins against West Indies, South Africa and Bangladesh. The question is ‘Should we feel happy that India won these matches easily?’ or ‘Should we feel sad as there was no competition in these matches?’ These are worrying signs for the future of test cricket. One may argue that this debate is going on for quite some time, but still teams are playing test cricket. Ashes matches are always full. When India plays against big countries like Australia and England, spectators come to watch these matches. That’s true. But the matches between these sides are always competitive and hence they are fascinating. Who would like to buy a ticket and watch boring stuff between a bat and a ball? Maybe a diehard cricket fan would watch it anyway but not the general public. Let’s see the problem areas with test cricket. Difficul...

Types of People We Meet In Mumbai Locals

Mumbai locals are the lifelines of Mumbai. There are BEST, Metro, Mono, Ola, Uber, Private Rikshas & Taxies, etc., still locals are the best among all when it comes to dumping people from one place to another. Only we can understand the efforts the players put while playing the rugby game. I wonder why we are lagging in the world ranking in rugby. (I thought we would be out of 100, but Google says we are at the 77th place. Not bad, actually!) Traveling by locals at rush hours (Morning 7 to 12 and evening 6 to 9) is not less than being at war. By the way, the definition of rush hours will change according to where do you live. Of course, most of us (or none of us) do not enjoy traveling by locals, but we do not have a better choice. It does not mean that life is boring in local trains. The people in it make it interesting. Every day you see typical people in local trains. I am only talking people traveling by general dibba (coach). Let’s meet them one by one. ...

Analogy between Movies and eLearning

Most movies are made for entertainment and most eLearning modules are created for the learning purpose. But, there are quite similarities between making a movie and building an eLearning module. What do you think? ‘Content is king’ is true for both movies and eLearning. A solid script is required to make a blockbuster movie, while interesting content is required to build an engaging eLearning module. Similar to the movie, the eLearning module will have a start, a middle part and a proper end. However, the module starts with an objective screen and ends with a summary screen. The eLearning module can use a story-based approach where the content is explained using a single story. Sometimes, in a movie, multiple tracks run parallelly. Similarly, the eLearning module can use a scenario-based approach where small scenarios are created to explain different topics. Along with script and content, the people who involved building these assets also play similar roles. For...
